Delete your account or your data

This page explains how to request deletion of your account for PrayOne, the mobile app published on Google Play by GLOBAL IMPACT, INC. II NFP, and what happens to the data associated with it. You can delete your whole account, or ask us to erase specific data and keep your account.

Option 1 — Delete your account inside the app

This removes your account and the data linked to it.

  1. Open the PrayOne app and make sure you are signed in to the account you want to delete.
  2. Tap Profile.
  3. Open Settings.
  4. Tap Delete Account.
  5. Read the confirmation screen and confirm. Your account is closed immediately and your data is erased on the schedule below.

Option 2 — Request account deletion by email

If you can no longer sign in, or you would rather we handle it, send us a request:

  1. Email hello@prayone.com from the email address you registered with, if you still have access to it.
  2. Use the subject line “Delete my PrayOne account”.
  3. In the message, include the name, email address and phone number you used in the app, so we can find the right account.
  4. We reply to confirm the request within 5 business days. We may ask one verification question to be sure the request really comes from you.
  5. Once verified, your account is closed and your data is erased on the schedule below. You do not need to do anything else.

Requesting deletion is free, and you do not need the app installed to do it.

Option 3 — Delete your data but keep your account

If you want to stay in PrayOne but have specific data erased, you do not have to delete your account. Ask us and we will remove it:

  1. Email hello@prayone.com from the email address on your account.
  2. Use the subject line “Delete my data”.
  3. Tell us what you want removed — for example your prayer requests, your feedback and support messages, your in-app activity history, or your phone number. If you want everything erased, ask for account deletion instead (Option 1 or 2).
  4. We reply to confirm within 5 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days. Your account, sign-in and the rest of your data stay as they are.

The only data we cannot remove on request is the records listed under What is kept below, which the law requires us to retain.

Deletion is permanent. Your prayer history, saved content, community activity and account itself cannot be restored afterwards. If you only want to stop notifications, change that in the app’s settings instead.

What is deleted

When your account deletion is completed, we erase or irreversibly anonymise the following. A data-only request (Option 3) removes whichever of these you ask for.

  • Account and identity data — your name, email address, phone number, sign-in credentials and profile.
  • Content you created — prayer requests, feedback and support messages you submitted through the app or site.
  • Usage data — your in-app activity history, pages visited, time spent and interactions linked to your account.
  • Technical data — IP address, device identifiers, browser and operating-system details recorded against your account.
  • Cookie and analytics identifiers that are tied to your account.

What is kept, and for how long

A small amount of data is retained after either kind of deletion, only where the law requires it or where it can no longer identify you:

How long deletion takes

  • Immediately — your account is closed and you are signed out of the app.
  • Within 30 days — your personal data is deleted or anonymised across our live systems.
  • Within 90 days — remaining copies in encrypted backups are overwritten.

The exceptions are the records listed in the table above, which are kept for the stated periods.
